Walk for a cause!
A big thanks goes out to the whole community from the Kawartha North Family Health Team! Saturday, June 2nd, the “Walk for a Cause” raised almost $6000 to support the walk-in clinic in Bobcaygeon. The walk was sponsored and organized by Bigley’s, and says a lot about their commitment to this community. A big thanks to Sherry Peel and her assistant Samantha who were so enthusiastic about this cause. 50 walkers braved the inclement weather, and were quite visible trekking around town in their red t-shirts to complete their 5 kilometre commitment. Notably, 2 of the Kawartha North doctors, both of the nurse practitioners, and several other staff were able to participate. Thanks to all our walkers. And of course, sincere appreciation to all of you who sponsored one of the walkers, or who donated online. It was your efforts that made it all come together. $6000 will fund 3 months of operation of the Bobcaygeon walk-in clinic. Community donations are the only support for this clinic, as the Ministry of Health provides no operating dollars. Donations to the clinic can still be made online or mailed to the Kawartha North Family Health Team at Box 129, Fenelon Falls, Ontario, K0M 1N0. If you have occasion to use the walk-in clinic in the coming months, it is because of the efforts of everyone involed in last Saturday’s walk that you are able to do so.
